Ebbtide system requirements
Ebbtide needs Windows 10 64-bit, DirectX 11 and 10 GB of free space on PC, or an Apple processor on macOS. CPU and GPU requirements have not been published; ProjectAlive says final specs come before release.
Ebbtide's published requirements are short and partly open. On Windows the game asks for a 64-bit Windows 10 system with DirectX 11 and 10 GB of free space; on Mac it asks for an Apple processor. ProjectAlive has not published a CPU or GPU model, and the store page states that final system requirements will be announced before release.

Windows: the official minimum
| Requirement | Published value |
|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit |
| Processor | Requires a 64-bit processor (model not published) |
| Memory | Not published |
| Graphics | Not published |
| DirectX | Version 11 |
| Storage | 10 GB available space |
| Additional notes | Final system requirements will be announced before release |
Read that table for what it is: a floor, not a target. Three of the seven rows are effectively blank, and the only hard numbers are the operating system, the API version and the install size.
macOS: Apple silicon
| Requirement | Published value |
|---|---|
| Operating system | macOS (version to be announced) |
| Processor | Apple processor |
| Storage | 10 GB available space (shared with the PC listing) |
"Apple processor" is the meaningful part. It rules out Intel Macs and puts the Mac build on the same architecture family as Apple Silicon machines — which is also the architecture that gets native ports rather than compatibility layers.
There is no Linux or SteamOS listing. If you are on a Steam Deck, the store page offers nothing for you, and this site will not pretend a Proton run is confirmed.
What "announced before release" actually means for you
If you are deciding whether to buy or build hardware now, the honest position is:
- Disk and OS are settled. 10 GB and 64-bit Windows 10 are not going to move much, and DirectX 11 is a low bar in 2026 terms.
- GPU class is the open question. A game that renders a zoomable city with a thousand-strong horde has a minimum and a comfortable tier, and only the developer knows where those sit.
- The Mac picture is thinner than the PC picture. Even the macOS version number is unpublished.
A practical approach: treat the missing GPU row as "assume a mid-range discrete card at minimum" and wait for the published spec before buying anything specifically for Ebbtide. Nothing in the public material justifies a hardware purchase today.
Why 64-bit, DirectX 11 and 10 GB are the three published numbers
Each one tells you something small but real:
- 64-bit only means there is no 32-bit memory ceiling to design around. That is consistent with a game whose selling point is a city-sized map with persistent state on every unit.
- DirectX 11 is the API floor rather than a target. It is the widest-compatibility choice a PC strategy game can make, which suggests the developer is prioritising reach over the newest rendering features.
- 10 GB is a modest install footprint for a 3D RTS with pixel-art rendering. It suggests stylised textures and efficient asset work rather than 4K photogrammetry.
Languages
The store page lists text support for eleven languages:
| Language | Variant |
|---|---|
| English | — |
| French | — |
| Italian | — |
| German | — |
| Spanish | Spain |
| Japanese | — |
| Korean | — |
| Portuguese | Brazil |
| Portuguese | Portugal |
| Chinese | Simplified |
| Chinese | Traditional |
Audio language coverage is not itemised separately, so do not read this as a list of dubs. The developer has also said that voice recording and localisation will be reworked with community contributors, which is a post-launch plan rather than a shipped promise.
Features that affect how you set up
| Steam feature | What it means at the desk |
|---|---|
| Single-player | No co-op, no multiplayer, no lobbies — see the FAQ |
| Partial controller support | A pad works for some of it; the operations map still wants a mouse |
| Custom volume controls | You can balance music, effects and voice separately |
| Playable without timed input | Nothing in the design requires reaction-speed input to progress |
| Stereo sound | No surround mix listed |
| Family Sharing | Eligible for Steam family sharing |
"Playable without timed input" is worth flagging if you play turn-based or pause-heavy: the map runs at up to 4× speed and can be paused, so the game is comfortable with a slow, considered style of play.
A pre-release spec checklist
Before launch day, do these three things:
- Re-check the store page the week of release. Final specs are promised before launch, and that is the only source that will be authoritative.
- Check the GPU row against your card, not your CPU. Strategy games of this type are usually GPU and memory bound before they are CPU bound, and the CPU row is currently the blankest.
- Budget the drive. 10 GB plus save data plus whatever the first patch adds.

If you are still deciding whether the game is for you at all, the gameplay overview is a better use of five minutes than a spec table with three empty rows.
